Hybrid springs into 2016 with raft of Mimaki promotions

The New Year sees attractive new price points and enticing promotions across a range of Mimaki printers, including key solvent and LED UV products from exclusive UK & Irish distributor, Hybrid Services Ltd.

The multi-award winning Mimaki CJV150-75 integrated printer/cutter enjoys an RRP of just £5,995 until the end of March 2016 yet still benefits from a 2 year fully inclusive warranty, 3.5 litres of ink, powerful software bundle and take-up unit. Its larger sibling, the JV150-107 is available for just £6,995 and, as National Sales Manager – Sign & Graphics, John de la Roche confirms, these are just a selection of the offers. “This Spring, prospective customers can benefit from savings of up to £5,000 across Mimaki’s solvent printer and printer/cutter products,” he outlines. “With the JV300 and CJV300 also seeing highly competitive pricing, it’s a great opportunity to invest in a Mimaki and make considerable savings.”

The new line-up of sign and graphics printers all include a two year Gold Warranty (parts and labour) and an extensive choice of ink configurations to suit individual needs; creating new business opportunities for signmakers, print professionals and commercial print operations as they invest in wide format.
Substantial reductions are also available across Mimaki’s UV printer range, with the range topping JFX500-2131 seeing not only a £20,000 saving but also a free second year warranty. Stuart Cole, National Sales Manager – Industrial Products comments, “With two year warranties available across our JFX range and on the A3 and A2 UJF flatbeds; peace of mind and budgeting are both taken care of.”

The Mimaki UJF-3042 and UJF-6042 start at just £15,995 and as the ‘go to’ small format flatbed LED UV printers; deliver a winning combination of print quality, productivity and creativity. “There a many reasons that the UJF remains the most popular printer in its class,” states Cole, “and receiving a warranty that’s double the length of the industry standard is an excellent incentive to invest.”

“The reduced capital cost of these printers makes them even more attractive than usual,” he continues. “The offers aren’t limited to the flatbeds either – our two roll-to-roll UV machines are also available with great savings too.” Mimaki’s UV500-160 roll fed production LED UV printer benefits from a £10,000 saving during the promotional period and the UJV-160 is available for just £29,995.

New Mimaki TS500P-3200 targets home furnishing textiles and indoor soft signage

Mimaki is to launch the TS500P-3200 super-wide format inkjet printer in February 2016. This 3.2-m wide roll-to-roll sublimation inkjet printer is a dedicated transfer paper printer for the textile industry and is ideal for a broad range of applications including home furnishing textiles and indoor soft signage.

Tailored for the growing close-to-home personalisation trend

Exclusively distributed in the UK and Ireland by Hybrid Services Ltd, the company’s National Sales Manager – Textile & Apparel, Stephen Woodall says, “We’re seeing the trend for on-demand textile printing develop from the fashion and sportswear markets into the interior décor and home furnishing sector. The benefits of digital print enable companies to deliver variable content in varying run lengths with very short lead times; thus capitalising on the technology.”

He continues, “Personalisation works best when coupled with short lead times for the consumer, so another key factor is having a print operation located geographically close to its market, thus bringing manufacturing back to the UK & Ireland.”

Lean, mean and green

The super-wide format TS500P-3200 inkjet printer, ideal for transfer printing on furnishings and display graphics fabrics, features a new type of printhead to deliver high-speed printing at 180sq m/h. There are 12 printheads arrayed in three staggered lines that eject ink droplets at high speed to maintain the appropriate ink droplet angle and ensure accurate drop placement with a high head gap. This ensures high-quality printing results on low-cost thin transfer papers.
Mimaki’s Advanced Pass System 4 (MAPS4) anti-banding function smooths the swath boundaries with reduced numbers of droplets to provide even more beautiful printing. In addition, the newly designed Auto Media Feeder (AMF) allows stable transfer paper feeding at the high-speed setting in order to maintain print quality.
In addition, the environmentally friendly output does not emit volatile organic compounds after printing and when considering large expanses of display graphics or retail PoS, it helps reduce CO2 emissions during transportation because it is lightweight and foldable.

Performance technologies support market innovation

The Mimaki TS500P-3200 delivers a number of production benefits. Its 3.2m super-wide printable width is practical for sublimation transfer printing on extra-wide fabrics for curtains, bed linen, and other home furnishings and with printing speeds of 180sq m/h is highly productive too. A new printhead and feeding mechanism ensure high speed and quality printing on 3.2m wide media, which thanks to its AMF*3 is capable of feeding media up to 3.2m wide and 130kg and in weight.
Mimaki’s cockling-reduction transfer mechanism supports high-speed production on wide papers and the high performance TxLink3 Lite RIP software allows users to specify the ink volume per colour, and produce large seamless patterns from a single image (including repeat and mirror patterns).
Uninterrupted printing is aided by the Nozzle Check Unit (NCU) that automatically detects and cleans clogged nozzles while the Nozzle Recovery System (NRS) uses only good nozzles as substitutes, when the clogged nozzles are not recovered after cleaning. Large ink containers in the external ink supply unit support continuous printing.
Woodall remarks, “The TS500P-3200 should make a real impact in these markets, thanks to its combination of high tech performance and innovative features. As Mimaki’s dye sublimation and textile printing line-up continues to expand apace, we’re seeing machines that offer solutions for every aspect of the sector.”
Dream big and wide
The interior decoration market is undoubtedly a growing one, as Woodall concludes: “The increase in demand for bespoke and short run interior textiles – be it for furnishings, décor or display graphics – is showing no sign of abating. Mimaki is focused on meeting the requirements of this market and the new TS500P-3200 provides the capability to deliver to an increasingly wide variety of needs.”
